Sweet and Sinful Dessert

Janet Groene’s
Punch Bowl Butterfinger Trifle

Any  bowl will do but you get bonus points if you have a large, clear plastic bowl to show off  the layers in this scrumptious dessert.  I have one that is bulky but never in the way because it’s  constantly handy as a wine cooler, giant salad bowl, catch-all and fruit bowl at home and away.
Once it’s mixed up,  this is a sinfully delicious goo. Nobody can guess what’s really in it. For a larger punch bowl,  double the recipe.

1 store-bought angel food cake, torn in bite size
1 stick butter
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
4 full-size Butterfinger bars, chopped
8-ounce tub of whipped topping.

Mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Fold in whipped topping. Make layers in the punch bowl with cake pieces, whipped topping mixture and candy, ending with candy. Cover and chill.
